Hi,

I am on the search for a decent but not hugely expensive hunter bridle - ideally with a plain cavesson rather than a crank noseband - for my Irish Draft. Any recommendations on brands?

Thanks!

I literally just got this off ebay for 8 quid and its english leather :D (11 including p&p) Have a look about. This ones fine for local showing too :D I likea bargin. Now I gotta break the new about my new bargin pony I have bought and is coming next week, but thats for another day after mum kills me.

I got my hunter bridle for Harvey (also an ID) from this company, think you have to order through your local saddler.

How about posting a pic of your horse so that we can see what bridle would suit him/her best?
(Just want to see a pic of your horse really as am a sucker for an ID!).

Thank you for all your help, I shall certainly investigate the brands mentioned - I think an evening browsing Ebay may also be called for.

Of course ... always a good excuse to show him off. I'm afraid he isn't the most handsome of horses (he too is a bargain horse toffee44, brought en route to the meat man) - but handsome is as handsome does and all that :D

Nor is actually full ID - he's an ISH, but has the misfortune to have a whopping ID head on a TB neck!

Anyway, this is a headshot of him ...

Are we still in agreement about a hunter bridle suiting him? I've no idea what width noseband he would need though - I'm thinking fairly thick as he has quite literally a whopper of a head!

What a lovely horse. My lad has an enormous head too, I had a posh bridle made for him for special occasions, the guy actually made the noseband and browband quite slim, I thought "ooh what will that look like??" when I saw it but it's actually more flattering than a big, thick noseband:

I go tmy hunter bridle from Wilki with a two inch crank noseband, but there quite price at £130 (inc reins), well i think it was that much it was a xmas present

I have a Requisite one which is actually really nice, for showing I would put plain flat browband with no requisite logo though cos I am a snob :p
