Hunter Pace?

My stubborn mare loves XC, we hacked past a field with a few XC jumps...she tried to jump in

When I got back to the yard my friend informed me that there's a hunter pace in a fortnight at Tahuna (from what I hear this is a nice course)
So now I am really tempted...but don't want to make a fool of myself (she did this when we went to try a PC rally..but I don't think she was 100% then)
I havent taken her out..mainly because I am very shy and retiring...so my nerves may have an effect on her.
So HHO...should I bite the bullet and go? Horse is fit and happy and I sould finally have transport by then..

Do you mean a Hunter trail??

If not, sounds like a similar thing you are talking about... why not? Go for it!!

Ooh..I'm tempted! Our schooling is at a dead end right now and feel i just need to have some fun!
 
Yeah try it! It is a Hunter Pace, its basically where you go round and jump whatever you like and there's an optimum time (nobody knows) and whoever is closest wins but TBH I dont think anybody treats it like a competition. I dont anyway, I use them as practice.

MardiGras - There were supposed to be 2 at the weekend and another at Philorth next week, ALL cancelled! So Id do Tahuna if I were you as there may not be another Pace for a while. Tahuna's an ok course, pretty straight forward. You just gotta dodge golf balls from the next door club! :P
 
Hi MardiGras

I stable my horse at tahuna. He's only a baby and I use the XC to school him. It's a nice straightforward course with 3 options at each jump and you can go round the majority of the jumps or through the gate next to them if you prefer. Perfect course for a nice wee day out and it's always friendly. I did it last year and it was very very laid back.
