Yes boring but as you said it is 'correct'.

I bought a really nice double show bridle from Colne Saddlery in Gloucester...they go to Badminton etc...made it up for me and I am VERY pleased with it!

if you are doing show hunter classes then im afraid thats what you have to have, a plain flat noseband and a plain flat browband. Bloss has a nice sabre show hunter double.

I think you mean "classy" rather than "boring" !!!!
As the others have said, plain bridle for showing.
Showing is all about tradition, and he would really suit a nice hunter plain bridle.

It doesn't need to be flat, we compete very successfully with a Heritage crank bridle, neevr had any problems!!

Whatever people prefer! I like a nice wide noseband for hunters (if their heads can take it) and raised nosebands look a bit odd if that is what you mean. We have several crank nosebands but all "flat" leatherwork.

FMM - I hope you don't mind me asking but where do get your bridles from? Im looking for a hunter bridle with a lovely big wide noseband like the ones in your photo, but i just can't find any decent ones anywhere!!

Lovely photo btw!!
