Thanks hun :D I can't really believe we are the same horse and rider as the other photo!!

What's so funny is that I was SO proud of the photo 18 months ago since I never imagined we'd do xc.

Love that Zoomy :D

Every time I talk myself out of taking Harry to a HT, you go and post something like this!

Out of interest, what height and what distance?

It's more the distance that concerns me with H, I know he can jump 2'6" all day long, but it's his ability to canter a couple of miles with my vast bulk on board that concerns me.

As ever, very inspiring thread.

It was 2'6 with 22 jumps.

It actually didn't go to plan and we retired (see other thread!) but we have done this height before and got round. It usually takes about 5-6 minutes to go round, it is tiring, but you can take it as easy as you like :)

It totally varies from venue to venue. Sometimes a 2'3 will be tiny logs on the ground and the 2'6 easy, sometimes the 2'3 has ditches and combinations and is over height and the 2'6 is terrifying

My advice is always to go for it, we were eliminated in a 2'9 last month and they let us continue round as a schooling exercise :)

I'll have to do some work with H to see just how long he can keep a canter up, or more realistically, how long my legs can hold out :D

I am currently working on our fitness with hill work and interval training, so that gives us something to aim at, thanks.

I have a gift voucher for a day at Stockland Lovell, as soon as it cools down a little I'll use it.
