Hunter Trial rules ?

Hey Guys,
Hope you's are all well.
I have my first hunter trial next Sunday and just want to check on the rules ect.
Any help will be appreciated.

As far as I know there aren't any official rules. I think it depends on who is running the event - i.e. pony club, hunt etc.

There will probably be a time section, so the fastest clear will win and the rest of the way you can go at your own speed.

If they want you to move out of the way or anything one of the fence judges will tell you, so its just a case of kick on, stick on and remember your way around!

All am hoping for is to go clear so will just be going at a nice steady pace as this is my lads first comp so don't want to spoil it.

A lot of pony club hunter trials are done on an optimum time throughout the whole course.

Most hunter trials have an optimum time, the clear round closest to the time wins. You're usually eliminated for a third refusal, some ht's let you continue on the course if you're elim. The rules will be on the schedule!
