So, after umming and arring on here, I overslept this morning, and decided, as the weather was ok, sod it ill go. I had walked the course yesturday and my reaction was: Oh my lord, they dont usually make HT courses with this many questions on them!
But ah well, I went anyway, early on to watch some friends tackle the pairs and then get on my lad. Fence 6 was playing on my mind quite a bit, but I had good studs in and started to relax, warmed up like an idiot, stood off of everything and had paddys. At least I could understand why he was doing it, and for once didnt fight with him. The timed section was very twisty, I had to take a lot of pulls and it didnt suit him, hence a run out at fence 3 which was my fault for not setting him up right. Circled and jumped it, carried on to the corner and longs, coming to the dreaded fence 6. It had been decided by Bekka yesturday that I would showjump this fence, a tiger trap followed my a big drop. I overcollected him, and the had to spur him on as I felt him slowing, he got too close, but slid over, I had to slip my reins and really sit back! Got a lovely round of applause, but my god I bet it looked sticky! Course carried on nicely, he jumped everything fast but properly, until we got to 21, a narrow style after a corner, which, again I didnt line him upto, hence a second run out. We completed the course and has a fast time in the timed sec, despite the run out! I was very pleased with him overall, he did well although I just gave him the reins, knowing he has problems with that mouth, which he is going in for on tuesday.
