Hunters bump or highly set/steep croup

Sorry I can't see the photo - it says my browser is too old! Not that would have had an expert opinion anyway but didn't want to just read and not comment!

I've never done it but I believe the easiest way is to upload the picture to photobucket the post the URL in your post. Happy to be corrected though!

better?

It will be interesting to know the result of the vetting. In the second photo I suggest he has been ridden in an ill fitting saddle. He has a mound just before the point of the hip and he has muscle wastage at the withers which suggest a saddle which is too narrow.

Other then that he seems quite sweet.

Let us know how you get on.

It took me 18 months, a fantastic physio, numerous saddle fittings as he changed shape, lots of good grass, and a very slow build up of work to get from something very similar to this - sticky out hips, no muscle from poll to tail so very dippy back and funny shaped bum - to the chunky, muscled up, strong horse I have today. It would have taken longer if I had bought in autumn instead of spring. I was helped a lot by spring grass. It took me 6 monghs before he could hold himself in a consistent outline on a circle. Well worth the wait and hard work though as he is a little superstar.

Looks quite similar to the build of my TB who i've got on loan. Got the saddle fitter coming out today then going to get the physio out to see him as I think he too has been ridden in a badly fitting saddle (has has a white mark on his withers which backs this up)
I'm hoping with a better fitting saddle and a bit of physio he'll gain muscle and his bum will bulk out.
Kobi your post is very encouraging - i'm hoping mine will end up like your boy!

Horse looks quite underweight with absolutely no topline - my boy looked like this after being off work, we then found out that he had kissing spine which meant that he could not move his back and therefore couldn't build up muscle. Since he has been operated on & has been doing a lot of walking in hand, plus being fed a lot of food he has started putting on muscle - it has taken since march for him to look ok again.
