:DYay def going to hunter trials on sunday, friend as offered me a lift.
How does it work? is it timed on the 2nd round like show jumping??
This will e our first one, never done one before. I kow the xc course as its our regular one :)
What do i wear? xc colours? i was thinking dark green and white - do i wear a stock underneath my jumper? i take it cream jods and black boots are fine, i have back protector and skull.
Will she need to be plaited or can she be left loose and lovely?! would a white saddle cloth be okay to tie in with the green and white jumper or a green one be better?
Thanks guys
Also in NL for answers

daughter does hunter trials .sometimes they have part of the course as the timed section between several jumps .others have the time section seperatley and only those who have done clear rounds go on to it .daughter did one last weekend and they had a knock down show jump fence included. colours sound great ,its fun to coordinate and no need to plait .you will probably need a medical armband with your details for safety reasons . dont know if you use studs but if you do use them .have fun and take someone with a camera.

Find out the rules first :) Some are against the clock for a section as debsflo said, and some are done on optimum time (which isn't disclosed) Then it seems to be pot luck tbh. A couple of weeks ago I did one with my sister and despite me going round like a showjumper and her having a stop and circle we were still way under the optimum time! That said, sometimes they have really tight timings. It's tricky, best to go for a fun clear and hope you get the 'right' time :D Good luck!
