What do you do with your horse?

It looks like hunting live quarry will either become legal again or the law will simply be ignored. If you started hunting after the ban, what will you do?

i cant vote as i've always hunted and will continue to do so.

as this forum is "Horse and Hound" i find it amusing that some members need to ask.

This should really be in the hunting section of the forum.

Nothings changed here except there are people on quad bikes following too. You would think they would give you a hand opening gates sometimes, but no. So nothing much has changed at all.

Never banned in the Rep of Ireland either.

My understanding is that the hunting with dogs ban has more holes than swiss cheese!

having said that. we never see any antis out with us or anyone monitoring us. the only thing that has changed with us is that we follow a 'marked scent'. And since the ban our numbers have increased especially the foot followers.

but i did hear of a drag hunt that will only except members if they are veggie, ride horses in synthetic tack, sat on a treeless saddle, with them barefoot at all times and a little bit of "Pat the man" thrown in....

but, as i said, its only hearsay

If I choose to hunt I will. Not banned here at all.
As well as with mounted packs, if I fancy it, in season (and with permits) I can hunt bear, moose, elk, turkey, deer and probably a whole bunch of other things too.

I have hunted in the UK for about 35 years, I would continue to hunt with my regular pack if they still existed, if they didn't then I'd simply go find another one.

Has anyone ever heard these words actually uttered in seriousness?

I was serious. Honest..........

I think some people shouted it at me once when I got bogged, in between fits of uncontrollable laughter as I staggered about in thigh-deep black gloop.

Can anyone tell me what the poll says? I can't load the result - wet string for broadband where I live and the schoolkids are on holiday watching videos and downloading music files.

Gottit now thanks 38/2/12 just now.

So if this is representative of the new hunting population as a whole a substantial proportion started because of not hunting live quarry. The Countryside Alliance quote the 10% increase in people hunting as evidence the ban should be repealed. This is a tiny sample, and a bigger one would be nice, but on this evidence they should only be claiming around 7% That's still a lot though, and clearly there is substantial support for a repeal. Not least because the law is simply unworkable unless we tell the police that it's more important to catch fox hunters than burglars.

I'll be sticking with drag hunting, where we also have Horses and Hounds, by the way Newtonpark (perhaps you could confirm or correct the information that I have been given that you are a new logon for JM07?)

Go on Enfys - tell us what it sounds like in Welsh? Will you need any vowels on the keyboard?

I can't say it, let alone spell it!

In Canadian it sounds like "******* critters!" though, which is more or less what I said when I let my dogs out after two coyotes in my yard eyeing up the goat just now. If they start coming onto the yard (like 100m from the house) this early before the snow comes even, I'll have to get the hunters out to deal with them.

Coyotes - you're obviously not in Wales now - that sounds scary! Do they lamp them like they lamp our vermin foxes round here?
