Has anyone tried this course or thought about going?

I am looking forward to a spring and summer of fun rides, x-country and some hunter trails and looking at hunting my boy next season. He has some experience with the Galway (although how he went and what those experience were like I do not know!), but I am a totally novice, so thought a course like this would be a great start.

Any opinions?

I don't know about that one in particular, but generally they give you a good idea of how to cross the country, and how your horse will cope with certain obstacles (hedges, ditches, timber, water etc) outside of your average hunter trialling/XC experiences.

I know the one that Eleanor Mercer does is excellent, as is the one that Helen Bell offers (but they're both N Yorks, so not much help for you!)

The RA have held 2 hunting clinic weekends so far. They are very popular. Plenty of excellent tuition, riding, talks and hunting. If you would like more details let me know and I can put you in touch with the organisers.

Ooh you'll have lots of fun at Pontispool - fantastic XC/TC course, very undulating terrain, you should learn everything you need to know! Very nice people too....

The RA has another clinic organised for the 2nd and 3rd October, if anyone wants to know more I have the details here.
Should be a fabulous if not exhausting weekend.
