hey all,

my mare is 4 and half, fairly sensible and i would like to take her hunting - she will hopefully event and i think it would do her the world of good, trouble is, although im a very experienced rider ive never been hunting. obviosly ive missed cubbing etc so do you think it would be a good idea to go? or leave it til next year?and how do i find out about going with an experienced, sensible pal to nanny us? i dont really know anyone who hunts!

Hi :)

I'm hoping to take k out for the first time in the next month or so, and if he behaves himself, you'd be welcome to come out with me in the future.

I'll be going during the week (quieter) prob with the north, which makes it a wednesday.

Otherwise, have you asked Hattie? She might not be on anything sensible though LOL

where abouts are you and how far are yo willing to travel?

we hunt round thirsk and are generally fairly steady. the bilsdale a really really friendly and there's always someone who'll look after you. have a look at www.bilsdalehunt.com for more info, or PM me.

i'd just get on with it, even if you just have a couple of short/quiet days this season. I'd agre that hunting does event horses the world of good in terms of their confidence cross country, and carefulness.
