Ok, am thinking of taking my girl hunting for the first time on the 1st Feb, did I read something on here a while ago about putting a ribbon of a certain colour in her tail so people know it's our first time?

You can use a green ribbon to show the horse is inexperienced or if you had a horse that kicked there would be a red ribbon in the tail - so watch out for them!

Simple fact: horses = strict liability!!
 
Depends who you are hunting with, Yellow can signify first timer and green can signify novice for those that have been out before but are still relatively new - you will need a red one too if they kick....

Seems only fair when you are riding together!! I'd like people to warn me if their horse is a bit tetchy rather than risk my horse getting a boot!!
 
just be aware if folks put an open hand behind their back (it's done in confined places, gateways etc...). It's at bit like red ribbon, i have to do this as day moves as my boy stamps at tail and just wants to go.... so if anyone comes up behind to fast he can get annoyed
