I liked this one about an Ex PC flouting the Hunting Act:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/09/05/nhunter05.xml

A CPS spokesman said: "There was insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of a conviction."

They are lying, they don't prosecute him because they know the law is absurd.

Any person can go out with a dog and break the law, the authorities will do nothing.

OMG what about a Shrew? Ozzie (Jack Russel) caught one a couple of months ago (technically was part of a pack as had two labs and a springer with him at the time), didn't kill it, (useless dog has been round the labs too long and thinks he has to retrieve everything) just drop the injured creature at my feet. Now didn't have a marksman handy, so improvised with my foot (it was that or leave it to suffer as it had a broken leg and was bleeding from the nose). What do you think law breaker or not?

It's all about intent or knowledge that the dog is hunting.

I think the examples where the dog doesn't even killanything are even more ridiculous. For exampl,e you have to stop the dog searching for animals.

Guess I'm a law breaker too then - Knew he was hunting, just didn't expect him to catch anything, he is pretty useless (has only ever caught one rat and that virtually ran into his mouth, and he let that go anyway). Could stop them seaching for animals, but then I'd have to walk miles to keep them fit enough for OH to swan off when he goes shooting!!

That's the way I feel about it I know they are hunting but they are so useless at actuall killing something I can't see the point of stopping them. What's more they have a great time doing what comes naturally to them. They just love deer. If the bloody things didn't run away they probably wouldn't chase them.
