Hunting question

Lol, I'd heard hound pee was corrosive, maybe fox piss is even worse!

Think the Regulatory Authority is an interesting development. I would love to see repeal in any form, just to give us a bit of clarity. Every day we go out we are open to spurious allegations from self-styled monitors which puts enormous pressure on masters and staff. Not quite time to top ourselves or emigrate just yet!

Digressing hugely, we had a day in Norfolk recently and at the end of the day the pups decided they'd rather paddle at the ford for a bit. My huntsman and I still in our breeks and waistcoats took couples and walked down to get them. We felt like aliens amongst these people sunbathing as their looks implied we had no right to be going about our business in the countryside. One person even remarked that it was quite extraordinary to see dogs in the countryside. I worry that while there is this complete lack of understanding between town and country (just look at the comments on Daily Mail regarding foxes & squirrels) then life can never be as before.

Congrats to Combat Claire and Harper Gal - brilliant explanations! I would just like to add that hunting is NOT about only riding hard. There is a deep and elemental aspect to 'proper' hunting which puts the follower of hounds close to and integrated with the natural world in a way which a 'game' such as drag -hunting could never do. To see the hounds drawing a wild comb and then suddenly giving tongue and absolutely flying away is a thrill which equals ..anything?!
