I will go straight to the point, Is there any minimum age limit you can start hunting a horse. I know for shows and things you can only do in-hand until 4yrs.

This is not for me by the way. I see a horse advertised as a 4 year old that had hunted last year. Just being nosey if you would even be able to hunt a 3 year old.

I would expect it is 3 but I'm not sure, I have heard that in Ireland they are hunted before that ... but I have never been so I can't say for sure.

Not much help am I - sorry

No their is not a limit and many people take young horses for the education, my 4yr will be going at the end of the year and would have done maybe a little bit last year in August but we didn't quite manage it. No jumping just meets and gentle tracks.

I saw one advertised as well hunted as a 3 yo when I was looking, it put me off. Nothing against taking a 3 yo to a couple of meets and following for an hour for education but well hunted? Also p2p'ers that are running as 4 yo's are qualified at 3.

here in ireland, very few horses are hunted before the age of three.
i'm not saying it doesnt happen, it does, but its not very common.
most hunters are broken when they are rising 3, and start hunting as 3 yr olds.
