hunting season versus Summer

Just wondering what everybody does in the summer. I ride all year roumd, but what is the normal? Do you all take breaks or do you just leave the hunting horses off for the summer?

we turn ours out, but farming as well there is masses to do in the summer so no time for breaks. horses back in beginning of august-

I give mine a couple of weeks off at the end of the season and then cut their workload down but enough to keep them fit for fun rides,the occasional RC competitions and clinics. I would rather keep them ticking over as can't bear the fittening work otherwise, though bizzarley I compete more in the winter too, as well as hunt, so see summer as chill out time.

We gave them a couple of weeks off to chill after the last meet that they did, and are now show jumping and showing over the summer, lots of hacking and also working on his schooling which is coming on really nicely. They seem to be enjoying it and are looking better than ever.
