Hunting with the flu

Don't know why I thought that hunting an 18 hand ex racer renowned for being a handful with raging flu would be a good idea. We took all four ex racers and apart from my Big Lad they all behaved beautifully. Monty on the other boiled over in the first few minutes and I ended up coming home early rather than risk him sitting on someones pony :o He's alot to cope with when you're on top form but when you feel like death it just won't happen. The hunt staff were brilliant with me though and were so encouraging. I'm going to try and find contact details and write to them to thank them for looking after us all so well.

The others had a great day though and two were first timers on horses they barely knew but they came back covered in mud and smiling from ear to ear!!

Now I just need to find a big bloke with nerves of steel to take Monty out again!
 
Sounds like bar your little problem that the rest had a fab day!

It's not fun hunting with flu! I have been all this last week!

I think they will appreciate the token of a thank you letter!

Hope you feel better soon to enjoy it more!
 
Oops norty Monty! Who were you out with? (Only being nosey as I wonder if you are the same owner of a big Monty as an equally big Chance.... I rode him at aTARRA clinic - sorry if I've got entirely the wrong person)
I went out a few weeks back with cracked ribs, courtesy of a horse - not one of mine! - kicking me when I was doing yards first thing, I decided that hunting as planned was the best option as other choice was staying on the yard and mucking out 30 stables!
Bizarelly enough, my grey girl was impeccably behaved and decided she had to look after me and be gentle. Was back to being a hoodlum once I got my strength back though ..,.
 
Need to change the title to Hunting with pneumonia after a trip to the docs today.

Yes it's the same big boys alchemist!! Chance was so good and was also my xmas present
 
I thought it was - and what a super xmas present - please do give me another sit on in a couple of years so I can compare before to after! I am running another TARRA clinic in the spring at same venue, so shall we look forward to seeing you again?

Is he desperately strong - what does he do?
 
Think youve replied to the wrong post ! My small bloke isnt as small as the small bloke I think youre referring to...but dont get me started on that one.
 
Likewise CM. I've finally drummed up the courage to pull out of our Cotts Tues tomorrow. OH thinks I'm a right wimp....

Due to one thing or another, we haven't been out for 2 seasons, but given as I've been ill all December, its probably a good thing!!

Dad tried to persuade me to take my OH's (strong when hunting) horse out.....I think I would just fall off, then sleep where I fell right now!!
