hey am going hunting for the first time on saturday. not on my mare for the first one. on a friends youngster whos hunted before so I can get a feel to how it all works with out my girlie go skits (if she does lol)

Any hoo, Im not 110% as to what to wear am a right in thinking the below
- breechers
- stock
- long boots
- shirt
- tweed jacket or will I get away with a black jacket?
Its ony a morning hunt not an all dayer

Thanks

I thought it was a stock OR a short - not both? But I've never been hunting

I have seen people hunting in back or navy. I think the real point is to be smart and show respect for the hunt, Im not sure if they are too stickly about WHAT you wear.

Tweed is better than a dark jacket for morning hunting. Stock (preferably coloured) or shirt and tie are ok. Plaiting optional. As others have said, be clean and tidy and no one will mind- have fun and please make sure you have plenty of brakes!
Spare gloves are a real luxury if its a wet day- just wedge a pair under the top of your girth straps ;-)

Brakes I have no idea on that, never ridden this horse before so could be intersting lol. I have some nice deer leather gloves with amazing grip and water proof so I hope ill be ok with them. Am so excited cant wait

In case they get wet through or you lose one - pretty miserable being out for several hours with chilly pinkies!

This was my first thought - there's no booze on that list! Hipflask in pocket with something scrummy for sharing; sloe gin, cherry brandy, flavoured vodka or try Black Mountain, it's a Welsh apple & blackcurrant brandy, scrumptious!

No need to plait for Autumn hunting.

A shirt & tie with a tweed jacket or a stock (not a white one), would be correct.

If you only have a black or navy jacket you could still wear a shirt & tie or a stock.

Try not to wear any bling & keep to plain colours for numnah. (Black, brown or cream/off white).
