I think we might have changed our first ridden Sec B into a fizzy nutter by taking her out earlier in the season. Son enjoyed it, but it was hard work with my pulling TB & her on lead. She continued to trot round the field for the next 2 days looking out for anything that moved on the horizon. We were on home-turf.
The next time she went out on a 'Santa-ride' with the PC she thought she was hunting & hanging on to her for 3 miles was a nightmare.
It did that to mine after the first couple of outings but he did settle down. Afterwards he thought hacking was THE most exciting thing in the world (he doesn't really like hacking, finds it v dull usually), striding everywhere and snorting at everything. Couldn't get any sense out of him when trying to school on the flat, and walking across the field meant gallop, surely??, to him
Having since been retired from it, he's now back to being bored senseless
