Hunting

Simply - Have fun!
My one tip would be to keep up with the people at the front if you can.If you try and stay at the back your horse will always be trying to catch up with the front runners and that is so tiring.

If you're jumping, go in the first half of the field else you get stuck with the dithering stragglers who get in the way - other than that, have fun and definitely do NOT overtake the master! :p

I've only done it once and my horse turned into a lunatic! kicked someone who crashed into us (red ribbon was huge) and I fell off twice and horse dissapeared into the horizon. But I would stick to the middle of the field, smile at everybody, vacate gateways quickly and always say thankyou to the poor sod holding the gate open for everyone, oh and you'll allways find someones mum/grandma trying to ply you with sandwiches and brandy/sherry some other strange alchoholic beverage in a flask halfway through the day. I'm hoping now i have a horse that dosent kick and hates dogs I can dop it again!

im off to a new commers meet saturday first hunt ever any tips in general? :)

Be polite, in normal terms and also not letting your horse barge infront of people etc. If you are a decent jumper keep towards the front - much easier. horses head to hounds is very important or try and keep away if your not sure how your horse will react.

Most important - have fun!
