Ive been reading on here about new years hunts/seeing all the turnouts, and how come there are so many people that actually come to watch the hunt go off?

i dont understand lol!

Boxing day and NYD are particularly popular days for watching the hunt set off - I guess it's just something to do on the bank holidays!

I always watch the Boxing Day meet leaving, but didn't get to this year

The day didn't feel right after that!

Because its like a social event, i see people on boxing day i dont see from one year to the next.
Its a nice spectacle, usually in nice location
and whether people accept it or not, hunting has been a big part of the british countryside for years and years, its a tradition, its nice to look at, and kiddies like ponies and doggies

When they stop coming to see us off we'll know summats up

Can't explain it really - I first went about 4 years ago and just fell in love with the whole thing, the way the hounds look up to their master, how everyone is immaculately turned out, friendly and chatting, how ordinary people have the guts to jump massive hedges/fences etc etc.

It's just very magical to watch...and a lot less scary than actually doing it
