Hurrah H&H rewarding long term subscribers

Too little too late. As a subscriber of more than 20 years I cancelled a few weeks ago having received a letter telling me the subscription was going up. I never thought I would cope without my weekly H&H fix but guess what, I really don't miss it at all, and think of the money I'm saving :D

See, this is why I need to subscribe as i've just completely forgot that it's Thursday and the magazine is out today. :( Now, I have to wait until tomorrow

How much cheaper is a subscription on the iPad? If it is, that might be an affordable alternative - assuming one has an iPad!

I've subscribed for over 20 years and it would be good if H&H had offered an annual discount to long-term subscribers....the percentage discount increasing, the longer you've subscribed. Mmmmm - doubt that'd happen though!!

The bulk of those journals which are as heavily supported as is the H&H, by their advertisers, generally offer the magazine, itself, for free.

Advertising in the magazine, and on here too, is jealously protected, but the problem which seems to have escaped the attention of our hosts, is that when those who spend a great deal of money with them, by way of advertising, wake up to the fact that the buying public are leaving them in droves, because of the constant price hikes, then they will start to wonder at the value for money equation. The revenue stream, from advertising is looking to be on ever more shaky ground.

The H&H aren't alone in having an imbalance of advertising over the levels of advertising and articles which are informative or interesting, the Shooting Times has gone the same way, and it's another magazine to which I no longer subscribe. It's a shame really.

Alec.

How lucky you are OP.

Yet again mine has not arrived - when this subscription is up in October they won't be getting another penny of mine
