Went for my first ride without hoof boots this morning. Hurrah! He was 100% sound and I enjoyed the cantering much more. I realise how unsafe I felt and there was no slipping in the gateways.
I picked a ride where there was plenty of off road grass, but he was just the same on the road as across the fields.
I have been leaving off the hind boots for a couple of weeks, but this morning I thought, the ground is wet and muddy (and slippy) just have a try and see what he is like.
Looking forward to doing much longer rides now.
