Vibes for the grooms and riders stranded in a severe hurricane around the show in Comporta,Portugal. All the horses have been evacuated in to the lorries and it has been a big panic today while both the temporary and permanent stables have been severely damaged.
No injuries that I have heard of,but scary all the same!
Hope the weather improves, but assuming there will be no competitions this weekend!

I'm a couple of hundred kms from Comporta but the wind here has been quite bad aswell, the house has been shaking and tables in the street were trying to fly away.
Hope the horses are all ok.

We are in SW France, anticipating bad rain and very high winds, currently am on orange alert, one step down from red. Horses are in, but I may put them out soon because of roofs etc.
I do have every sympathy for those of you who are at shows and away from home, must be very frightening. My Endurance for tomorrow was cancelled on Friday because of this storm coming. take care everyone, hope you have better news soon

We are in eMaine et Loire and we are not on red alert either but last night was horrendous. We have guttering down and some roof damage but not a catastrophe thankfully.

As you have probably heard - poor people in the Vendee were drowned as they slept, when sea defences failed.

Rather like the great Canvey Island disaster.

Just been looking at Aquitaine news, the Pompiers were going from house to house, breaking in, checking all rooms, under the beds, very scary.
We have a good friend on a riding holiday in Chile, something else to worry about.
