My instructor gave me a quick account of the Mary Wanless method of riding one lesson, which we have been working on eversince. I can definatly feel that I am a lot more stable in the saddle and my boy went well in an outline for the first time ever a while ago and our cantering control as improved tremendously.

The problem is that my inside thighs are still agony after a while, making it very difficult to ride for long in the school. Stretching my legs out of the stirrups for a while just make it worse - does anybody else ride using this method and are you still getting the same problem?

I should think your muscles are just getting used to all this new work. Try to only do short lessons (as long as your are comfortable for) then increase by 5 mins every week as your muscles strengthen

Sounds like your first session was a little over-done, thighs kill when they are sore. I think its an excellent way to gain a natural balance, especially if you are jumping. You can only build upto it. At the moment I would rest and get better first.
