Anyone else have this problem? My youngster (14.2 welsh) has a massive canter stride and easily overtakes any of our hacking nannies in just 2 strides.

Please give me confidence she won't be like riding a camel forever? She isn't particularly fast, just really really covers the ground

? It's not designed for being social, that's for sure! We can chat for those first 2 strides and then we're off in the distance, haha!!

It's not necessarily uncomfortable to ride...it's just everything happens so much faster. End of arena, end of area we can canter out on a hack. My gelding gets about 10 strides to her 4 ?

Nothing constructive to add, just jealousy ?
We have a canter known as the ‘shuffle’ ‘custard canter’ ‘hippo hop’ and less polite things when resisting the urge to pony club kick ?
Enjoy!

Ps, go with it, as she gets more strength and balance she’ll learn to adjust a bit more. Just be glad you’re starting at the right end of the spectrum ?
