If a horse has spent most of its life in one home could I end up with mega problems if I buy it?? Its mid age that concerns me.....ie it could have change of personality etc


I know any horse could unsettle etc
 
No more or less likely to unsettled than any other IMHO - I think it's good sign that they wanted to keep it for a long time!

We recently sold a horse who was homebred and into double figures agewise, because we knew all her seperation issues would be solved if she went to a yard where she wasn't part of such a busy place and huge everchanging herds. She's a different horse now. So it might even work in your favour ;)

Eta - If you're really concerned but like it a lot, then why not ask about having it on trial? Worst they can do is say no.
