After my worsening pony with sore feet panic.
Vet came out yesterday, had to be brought forward as he came in with a fat eye 🤦‍♀️
An ulcer, so she’s back again later but that’s another story!

She thinks that his last bloods were so recent that we should leave it a bit, agreed no pulses, and she agreed trying hoof boots.

So I ordered some and they have arrived and I really do want matching trainers.
How cute are these?! 4A866519-0E96-4D8C-B598-28ABC7FD988E.jpeg

They are bound to make him happier! 🥰

Poiuytrewq - How old are you again??? :D

(I do so hope that this is taken in the way light-hearted it was intended! I often get into trouble with my use of emojiis with my young adult children!)
Is there not a old world saying “your never too old for sparkles”
Or did I just make that up 🤷‍♀️

The stuff my horse is ridden out in and things that are seen by other people is all very conservative, honestly!
Not a patterned turn out person!…. Oh god, as I typed that I remember the mulberry Swish turnout (pink, it’s pink) that I bought, incase his sensible rhino ever got too wet 🙄

What is happening to me 😂😂

You know you can get trainers that flash in adult sizes, right? I’m really tempted, but I think my OH would pretend not to know me in public! I’m thinking the pink ones……https://flashwear.co.uk/collections/womens-led-trainers

On a more serious note these boots have really really helped! He’s walking slightly strangely, knees a bit exaggerated or something but so much happier in them.
Great buy regardless of sparkle 💖
That exaggerated movement does go away as he gets used to them, when BB had boots it was like comedy legs 😂😂😂

Out of interest, how long do you keep the hoof boots on for? whole days, half days ? My old mare has got quite sensitive since it got wet again, our yard has tiny stones that get caught and make her look wobbly.
In her hoof boots she is fine. I was worried at keeping them on for too long.

He comes in during the day - say 6.30am- 4/5pm so has them off then.
I think i only really need them for the actual turning out and bringing in but last night i did leave them on over night as there are stony bits in the field so figured id let his feet settle and and bruising heel them aim just for the walk to and from the field.

This was what I used them for on Beau, the track to the field was stony as all get out. It made him positively scarper, marched off from me one day, clearly I was suddenly too slow, having been used to let him pick his way up.
