Took Gem out for a hack today, even though I felt like death due to this flipping cold! I felt a bit better in the afternoon, so threw some tack on my very clean ginger pony (She's been in due to mud fever for the last few days.) Anyway, happily plodding along the cindertrack, very very impressed at how amazingly behaved she was being, when we were met with a huge great tractor *gulp* Gem, was very well behaved, only spun once and even went to look at it when she had relaxed (after lots of mindless chatting from me and strokes.)
We carried on our way, up the lane and were met with a speeding chav on the wrong side of the road coming round a blind bend, good god, I thought I was going to go flying! But my super excellent amazing pony (its not often you'll hear me say that
) reversed at a high speed and stood stock still while the chavs slammed on their breaks. I was met with a load of abuse about 'stupid stuck up horse riders shouldn't be allowed on the roads etc.' *rolls eyes* I didn't think to get the lisence plate *kicks self.*
After the chavs' car (neither of which I recognised) revved passed I carried on with a lovely hack with an almost perfect pony, I was so impressed after the show she has been making of herself recently! Lots of pats when we got back to the yard!!
This is the first time I have ever encountered anyone so rude out riding! I think we are lucky to live I quite a horsey area with reasonably understandable people on the roads!
(Apologies for any spelling mistakes, the H and U aren't working very well on my keyboard! LOL)
