After having months of trying different bits with my ex racer, non of which made him any happier as he has such a 'stressy' mouth (before anyone says it, yes teeth absolutely fine), I tried his Micklem bridle bitless (with the strap through back of noseband) and he goes fantastically in it :D have brilliant brakes & he will go 'on the bit' and carry himself well. I am so pleased!!! Makes a change I'm not moaning about something lol, just had to share :)

I tried mine bitless in a micklem yesterday, usually in hackamore, so bitless not a new thing. Went on the mildest setting but my brakes weren't great. I will be persevering with it though. I thought it a very attractive bridle.

Can you post a pic of how you've made it bitless ?
I love (and my horse does too :)) my micklem, also a very fussy ex-racer.
Haven't competed for a few months but did a few months of Dressage in it and didn't have one comment about her mouth whereas before always had comments such as unsettled in the mouth, unsteady in the head etc.

I ordered one weeks ago and still not received it :( Apparently Horseware are struggling to keep up with demand. I wont be going bitless though ;)

I think i'm lucky in that because he had such a soft mouth & doesn't like too much pressure, he responds to slight aids & my voice. In order to go bitless you need all the extra parts that come with bridle, there are 3 levels (from mild to strong) that you can use. I'm so pleased with it I just bought another for my mare off ebay - bargain price too for hardly used :D

I love my micklem bridle! My sports horse hates flashes/grackles but opens her mouth and this has completely worked and she schools so lovely in it, and I think it's very nice to look at :)

I've got all the straps and clips that came with it but like you I got mine off eBay (trader) so didn't come with instructions.
Can you describe how you make it bitless as can't picture it in my tiny mind :)

Love my micklem bridle (on mildest 'setting') and so does my mare - so much more relaxed and self balanced. Brakes just as good. I actually do not like putting a bit in her mouth now but needs must for dressage :-(
