So i made the decision at the weekend to move my 3 girls to the dry (!!) paddock as its close to the house (which makes it easier to stable them overnight), not a mud pit (yet) and i will then stable them at night or in the worst of the weather. I had everything planned to a tee to get them fed, out and stables skipped (so ready for tonight) in good time before i leave for work (around 7.30am-8amish). It all went brilliantly, got my skipping time down (thanks to some miraculous lack of mess by all 3) and little cob managed not to rip my arm off on her way out (she's on a steep learning curve for manners). I was feeling really pleased for myself, not least as OH has already pointed out the obvious, that my dry paddock will look horrendous in a week or two.
An hour into my all morning meeting i realise ive left the hose on for the field water! How stupid could i be? Random excuse to leave meeting, followed by franbtic call to neighbour to turn the tap off. Hopefully there wont be a lake when i get home
