Just snapped this pic of Alf snoozing in the sunshine - and was delighted when I uploaded it to the laptop. I'm biased, but I thnk he has the kindest eye of any horse I've known.

and Yes - I know his forelock is a disgrace!

We are back! He was absolutely angelic, and didn't even think about spinning. We had a go up the drive and back in the hackamore, and he didn't like it, so swapped back to usual snaffle/cavesson arrangement. Whole point of the hackamore was for him to enjoy a bit of bit-free hacking, but it seems that he firmly believes that he is not a cowboy horse. I told him that it was a german hackamore, and all the cool kids were wearing them on the continent - at which he reminded me that they all wore sparkly browbands too...

I love his forelock! The rest of him is pulled, trimmed and clipped, but the fringe stays. I've pulled it a few times, but he doesnt look right!
He didn't fancy going out today - spent the entire day sulking under the willow tree, pulling faces at the other two if they tried to join him!
