As title really! I go through wellies like I go through chocolate! Cheap ones last 1 day with me, the longest a pair of cheapies has lasted with me has been 3 days. Hunters lasted 3 months and expensive Dunlops have last me from March this year till last week.

How are the Ariat mudbusters? Is the rubber long lasting on them?

Me too, I go through at least 6 sets a year - think its because have very wide fat feet. I'm off to google these as have tried all the expensive/cheap/farming options which I guess you have too!!!!!

Have found these to be the longest lasting wellies ever.

Someone posted last night (thank you) about Townfield Saddlery having them on offer for £30, so pleased have bought a pair for youngest daughter now her feet have hopefully stopped growing, she now wont have to pinch her sisters and mine now, we all take the same size

I love Ariat Mudbusters. The only ones which I will buy.

Me too, so much better than any wellies I've ever used! The customer service is awesome aswell, I had one pair for 2 years - wearing everyday, then I got another but they split down one of the design lines, so I contacted them, and they sent me out a brand new pair in a matter of days, and these ones have been just as excellent :)
I'd defo reccomend them :) Cant live without mine! lol!

LOl, that is where I'm going now which is why I asked :D They put a pair aside for me :)

Chameau all the way expensive but last longer than Hunters and Ariats for me and all my other boots are Ariats, the lady who's Ariat boots lasted 3 months you should send them back to Ariat my friend did and they sent her a new pair !!

Not strictly wellies but have you tried the Muck Boot Companies, Muck boots? I found they lasted by far the longest, at around a year of daily use for yard work and long dog walks. I to have gone through cheap wellies in a day or so.

My muck boots were great, really comfy and lasted for so much longer than anything else. I wouldn't consider buying anything else now.

Lady on our yard had them and they lasted about 6 mths so I was staying cleart BUT at £30 Im off to have a look now.
Thank you

Yeyyyy I got some ............. then in my greed for a bargain I didnt check if they are neoprene lined :(:(. I need warm wellys :(
Please someone tell me they are warm.
That will teach me anyway if they arent :)

I know before I type this that it's going to sound like I've made it up but it's true - I promise! Over the years I have got through ......

4 pairs of Dubarrys in 2 years
1 pair of Hunter wellies in a week
1 pair of Musto Buckdens in 3 months
2 pairs of Le Chameau neoprene with zip wellies in a year
1 pair of leather Hunters ( can't remember the name) in 6 weeks
1 pair of Le Chameau leather boots ( also can't remember the name) in 6 months
1 pair of Ariat Grasmere in 18 months - brill boots by the way

And so far my Ariat Mudbusters are still going very very strong after 3 months so i think there's hope :D

I might have to try the Ariats I think, are they comfy for wide feet? I actually gave away my hunters because they hurt my feet and I've been splitting so many pairs of cheap wellies that I've taken to buying two pairs at a time!

I'm usually a size 8 medium/wide width in normal shoes but I took the 7 1/2's in the Mudbusters and there was still a bit of width left over for a foot a little wider than mine and I was wearing my thick wool socks today as well! I've got a high instep which usually makes putting my feet in and out of boots a pain but with my new Ariats, they went straight in and out!

I wore them to poo pick and dig rag wort this evening and I'm so chuffed with them. I hope they last as they don't hurt my back and hip either.

Agage, I did look into Muck Boot Company boots but they are difficult to fit my foot into them and two people I know that have had them, they've split across the tops where your foot bends. I do alot of walking so I reckoned that they would go for me there too.

Louby, they have a kind of thick jersey lining in them. They seemed warm when I wore them tonight but I did have wool socks on anyways. The soles seem thicker than normal wellies so that may help insulate your feet against the cold ground.

Thanks :D
I love my muck co wellys for warmth but they keep splitting :(

No definitely not, I'm on my second pair, wore out my first ones in about 2 months - quite simply, they aren't 'proper' waterproof, they leak around the seam with the sole, and somehow seem to leak through the rubber itself!

Having said that - lovely and comfortable, very sturdy and very warm. Probably great for general yard duties but don't try walking through long wet grass! Customer service is also excellent. I complained about my first pair which I bought through an online shop, got a very speedy response and a replacement pair...but they are no better. Won't be bothering again!

They are really warm, my feet were always lovely and toasty.
I've got quite wide feet too, but they fit fine, I'm normally as size 7 though, and bought a 6, that seems to be the rule with them, go a size smaller!
As I said, one of my pairs leaked and I sent them back to ariat after a few months, as they have a guarantee for 12 months I believe, and as long as its a fault with the boot and not just been trashed then they will replace with a brand new pair. I was really impressed, nothing lasts forever but with that service, they've definately kept my custom :D

Haven't tried Ariat Mudbusters yet, but I might add them to the Christmas list after all these good reviews. I think I could get through a pair of wellies faster than my horse can get through a bale of hay! My current Town and Country pair have a big fat slit on the toe, no more jumping in puddles for me :( :L x

I am on my 3rd pair of Ariat mudbusters - I love the boots, they are really sturdy, fab if you have loads of walking around to do, keep your feet toasty, and Ariat's customer service is fab - which it needs to be -

because my bleddy boots keep splitting within 6 months of using them. Ariat have been fab and have swapped the boots out each time, but it's a little frustrating, seeing how expensive the boots are, and they split in the daftest places - like half way up my shin. Looking at the boots, I do think its a problem with the moulding of the rubber during manufacture, as they are splitting at any place where a fold or crease occurs during wear.

As I said, I do like the boots for comfort, warmth etc - just not durability. I was hoping when I got the ariat boots that they would last a little longer maybe. TBH when the ones that I am wearing now split (which I have no doubt that they will) I am going to be looking for an alternative boot :(
