Introducing Buster, prize for a breed guess lol

We got him today after spending the last few days with him at his home, introduced my guys yesterday and today hes here. Long story short he was found local paper, needing home. Kids had become more important that dog. He was loved but not walked or regulary groomed.

Hes fairly good just with lack of walks his recall isnt brilliant but if you jump about like a loon and make lots of noise he comes back lol. Long line for a bit :)

Hes really fussy about treats except cheese lol I bet he will take meat though, will experiment as he gets more settled.

His owners reckons hes 5/6yo. But hes lovely, had one little scrap of "get that stupid dog out my face (Dylan) " and since then Dylan left him a alone and they have been fine, currenly all asleep in the living room.

OH is oover the moon. He lost his OES last Sept and we said that we might get a puppy when Dylan is older or take a rescue one if one turned up as they don't very often.

Thought you'd been missing from here recently, obviously spending time with Buster. He looks like he's very happy to have found you, I never thought about not being able to call them Bobtails anymore. :)

He is lovely!! He will deffo settle down you sound like lovely owners :) About six weeks ago we heard of a poor pony who was being put down because the owner had moved on to a horse and didn't want her :( so we have a trio of ponies again lol xxx

I've just seen an ad with Buster with long hair in it!:D:D:D I haven't seen a Dulux ad with a dog in it for ages:o didn't think they still used the dog but you have clearly kick started the fashion for OES again:D:D:D

There was something in the Dog Press about that ad recently, OES breeders not at all happy. Apparently enquries for pups have gone up 10 fold since the recent ads were first aired, not good , as Buster shows OES often end up in unsuitable homes. Not meaning you Toffee but his previous owners.:o

Yes MM they have as have their price easily £1000 now!!!!!!! And the people who are "breeding" them have gone up, they are known to have HD but very few are health tested unless from the very few proper breeders in the UK. Along with their coats they tend to be typically stubborn and strong willed and we really ummed and arrrrrred about getting one as a pup again so really glad we found this fella.

We have him because Ben loves the breed hes had 2 in the past. But they require a lot of coat work and Ben learnt to clip him self, though he does it over two days for both his and the dogs sanity. The trick is not the get them much longer to what he is now and a good shampoo.

Dylan and him have been non stop tearing around the garden and humping..... :) So Dylan is passed out in the middle of the door way (typical inappropriate sleeping place). He didnt really fancy dinner tonight so havent pushed him. He didnt even want his bakers hes come with.

Teal has said hi but not pursued him further lol. But they are the sharing the dog bed atm. Teals head is on Busters bum lol.

This was Edd OH last OES with my friends lab, almost spitting image, we wonder if they are from the same lines.

I dont think we will suffer from cold nights in this house again :)

He is big but tbh a lot of it is fluffy padding he actually feels a bit skinny under that coat (fed bakers no more said).

I will sort his coat out next week once hes more settled. But will take him to the groomers for this cut so he can have a thorough scrub as he dont half pong a bit. He had a bit of a groom just now which he liked and got some burrs out of his coat.

What a dude:) I just read your message and come straight here to see (I knew you would post):D he is super, a nice clip and some ongoing coat care and he will look like more of a dude (he is handsome) Im glad he is intermingling so well:D

I'm always amazed at how wiry they are under all that hair!
The HD in the breed is just 'one of those things' according to too many people :( even those who have paid out for multiple surgeries....

Teal is fine with other dogs now, its just meeting other dogs on walks. We are doing socialisation classes twice a month with then (Dylan to work on recall round other dogs in a controlled enviroment and I walk in and out of the class with Teal which has really really helped).

Teal can now walk past another dog at heel with just a grumble not a full pelt barking fit, although he never attacked he was very intimidating. But I still find myself on the look out for dogs all the time if on paths etc.

I AM STOPPING NOW three is my magic number (3 horses, 3 goldfish, 3 dogs, 3 guinea pigs) :) So am I allowed out again DG ;)

Absolutely:D 3 is a good number, we have 3dogs.:)

He can bloody howl!!!

From midnight to 3 he howled and barked on and off. I then opened the kitchen door and let him near Teal and Dylan in his crate and Teal went crazy (0300). Thought they settled but at (0430) Teal went crazy again, gave up I opened up the crate let them loose and hoped for the best (mainly Dylan trashing the joint). I slept downstairs as the living room is infront of their utility room, to find them at 0600 fast asleep, on an old duvet. Made them go out for a pee, they went straigh back on duvet lol.

Had a quick run this morning at the horse field and spent the rest of the day on and off the sofa (all three can fit on the two seater !!). Dylans settled more and stopped harrassing him so much. Hes all booked for the groomers on Sat.
