I went to the stables last night to muck out Gem, who has been on box rest for a month and a half now, and her hock was hot, and fat again. Fantastic. The vet was due out this week and I had hoped he would let me turn her out, but no such luck now.
He came out this morning, has put her on Newmarket joint supplement, and said to just keep walking her. He will come back out next week and give her some steroids and see how it goes. He said we can't even think about turn out for at least another two weeks.
Excellent, just what I wanted lol

its so frustrating to have to walk them in hand isnt it? especially when its so bloody cold... i never realised how fantastic horse walkers were untill my horse needed walking out everyday!

Thanks everyone, it hasn't come as much of a shock to me tbh, I think I am too used to her being on box rest now lol. She's being a very good patient, not bargey at all on the ground. Even when I was trotting her up today she didn't get silly, bless the orange one!
