I’m another firm believer in big ears = nice soul.
May you have many happy years and experiences together.

It's the best feeling, isn't it? Congratulations, sound like you found a great friend! This probably isn't deserving of it's own thread really, but I just wanted to commemorate day one of what will hopefully be my view for the next 25 years or so!
It feels so special when you have worked with them since a 'baby', he was 5 days away from being 3 when I put my deposit down on him when he was still in Ireland.
He will do hardly anything until he's properly 4 in May, other than get the basics, see a bit of the world and tick over. I have always loved horses with big old lugs they're usually a nice soul.

Is that your first time on board? (Sorry, don't keep up with things)? Love big ears, and they are highly prized in some breeds (PREs, Irish Draughts and Connemaras, for instance).
Well it's because you did what you did that I "urged" a friend of mine to do the same. Hers is equally gorgeous with a temperament to die for.
You deserve a good life together - just keep the pictures coming so I can live vicariously please.
You might be surprised - i thought mine would grey out and lose the strawb roan fast - but at 10+ he’s still got strawberry speckles! Especially face, neck, chest.I so wish he would stay this colour, almost like a strawberry roany grey with dark bits, but alas sadly he will end up greying out - just fingers crossed it's slowly.
I'll be interested to see what colour his summer coat brings, he's like a yak at the moment!

Dex is gorgeous, youve come so far since you got him, well done to you both! Great partnership
He is lovely..I wish I could post our newbie…same age who has very similar colouring and has one side of head/face paler than the other. Ours is ID/thoroughbred cross and the most gentle kind person. Look forward to your posts about him.
He looks lovely. I am trying to get brave enough to get on mine too, so far I have done the "potatoe bag" accross her back but not been on properly
