Hubby has very kindly offered to do my horses, and my Mum is coming picking me up now to take me to A&E

Some may remember me saying Hannah really stamped on my foot the first day I was leading her and Troy out to the field. Well, that was nearly two weeks ago and it is still very bruised.

It was getting better, but this morning the dog stood on it, and it has swollen up again, is absolutely killing me and is black again! So, I think a hospital visit is due

I'm back... hubby has done my ponies for me, little sweetheart!

I have had my foot xrayed and it is not broken

I have a lot of soft tissue damage

and they said for the amount of damage I have done I am very lucky that it is not broken

I am supposed to keep it rested and be careful of how much pressure is put on it with shoes etc... but you all know how hard that is when there are horses to exercise and muck out

Thanks... the doc asked me why on earth hadn't I gone in when I first did it

I tried explaining that I had a day old foal and a mad mare that needed looking after so I just didn't have time for a pot on my foot but she just looked bemused.

Hannah and Troy are doing really well, and are now leading out easily (hubby can do it and he is not horsey at all

) Unfortunately, my foot is still a victim

They are out evey day all day, and Troy just loves playing out! He still sulks when brought back into his stable...

Good news re: foot, hope it's not painful for too long. Have you tried putting Arnica on it (will really help bring out the bruising)?

Yes, a lovely person on here sent some to me

The arnica definitely helped with the bruising, but since the dog stood on it this morning it has just gone back to being as bad as it was

Glad it's not broken. Beano stood on OH's foot three times in one day at a show last year and the foot looked like a biatn black grape afterwards. OH now has a pair of sturdy steel toecapped Mountain Rider boots for handling the clumsy oaf! If he wasn't busy decorating he'd sympathise...

Oh just what you need right now eh?

My foot was crushed a number of years ago when I was riding a stupid horse and it spun around and slid over on top of me crushing my leg. Well my leg was fine, however my foot was not. No lasting physical damage however even after all these years when it gets cold my foot has this amazing purple blotches occur on it. Quite odd really.

Here's to a speedy recovery for you.

Hi, good job you went really just to be on the safe side. Now at least you can relax and not keep wondering if it is broken. You will just have to keep putting ice on it and be careful so as it can heal and keep it from getting any more damaged. good luck.

Tia, I get the very same thing on my right foot. Years ago(think I was about 16) I was leading a horse back from it's field and something spooked it....horse jumped up and landed on my foot!Didn't hurt at all for a good hour, but after that damn it was sore. Now it goes blotchy when I'm cold, and it does occasionally ache.

Becki, really hope that your foot is just bruised and it doesn't turn out to be too badly damaged.

Glad your foot isn't broken. I broke my foot and was lucky they even x-rayed it our local hospital!

They kept insisting it was probably just bruised even though it was hugely swollen and my toes looked like little grapes!
grin.gif

Recovered quite quickly though so I hope you're back on your feet (ha ha) very soon!!

Thanks... I am pain killered up to the eyeballs, but they are not helping much. I had to go and do the horses tonight, but just couldn't bring myself to ride so poor Disgrace has had two days of no exercise and stuck in her stable. I feel awful, but will make sure I ride her and she gets out tomorrow.

Glad it is ok

A horse stood on my foot twice in one day about four years ago and I can still feel the pain if I think about it!
crazy.gif
The Dr told me that it was a dreadful crush injury and that to be honest he reckons it is better just to break it
ooo.gif

I had no shoes on whatsoever for neary four weeks and then 'big' shoes for another two weeks. It was agony to have anything pressing on the top of my foot and to be honest to this day I don't like the sensation of shoes touching it

I would treat yourself to some stell toe caps if I was you!
