Went to a large equestrian superstore, in the NorthWest of England today (not Robinsons).
Chose a nice pair of Jods, just the right colour. They had nifty elastic bits for under your foot, fastened with buttons. One of the buttons was missing, one fell off when I tried them on and a third one came off while I was standing at the checkout. These were not dirt cheap jods, about £60. The store staff offered to sew them back on, and then produced a dark brown button to go with the three remaining clear ones! They offered no reduction for the 'seconds', they didn't seem to appreciate that these were NOT first quality!
I left the jods where they were, have e-mailed the company with my dissatisfaction, what do others think?

They don't make things like they used to do they?

They could have knocked a tenner off and then everyone would have been happy. I suppose they don't have the authority to do that/

You just don't seem to get the quality these days, even when you pay a lot of money.
It does make you wonder how many people had tried them on before you though.

I'd be miffed too! I occasionally help my friend in her tack shop, there you would have either got them half price or I'd have sent them back to the manufacturers. Very poor service I reckon.

Jesstickle - they should've had the authority to reduce the price. We used to do it a lot where I used to work.

I find with jods that the sizes are never consistent across the makes/shops. It drives me mad when I'm ordering them online :( I ordered 3 of the same make last time and only 2 fit me.

So glad others think the same! Thought I may be having a grumpy old woman day :D Agree with buying on line. have three pairs the same make and they all fit differently! That's one reason why I went to try them on. They were jods, not breeches, although would have prefered Breeches, but they were JUST the right colour :( Won't be going back there in a rush, think I may have found a pair at Rideaway, so may travel east this weekend :)
Oh yes Honey08, it is that one!

A quick update, this shop has not covered itself in glory yet :( They say on their website that they will reply within 24 hours to e-mails. Now I understand that they may have not been working yesterday (Good Friday) but, still no explanation, acknowlegement of anything  I am now even more miffed.
