Just when i thought i had found a new yard i find out that one of the potential stables is going to be shared with another horse that has a lot of vices it would be bad enough that they would have to share in the first place!
I am so annoyed i don't think i am ever going to find a better home for my horses i have been looking for ages the only other possibility is like 20 mins each way. I am so annoyed and down about it all just can't bear another winter at my present yard

Hi welshmonsters,

20 mins to a good yard in a car is absolutely nothing. I did 30 mins 30+ years ago in a borrowed Austin A40 that i had to double de-clutch. And sometimes i had to bike it.

Maybe forum friends will appreciate their current yards, if i say a little about my first? PLEASE LISTEN x

We had no running water, the 'farmer' insisted we took all water from his raintanks (full of dead insects), so we used to pass water containers to each other over the fence in the cemetery. If we got caught, it was dismissal from the yard (and in those days, 1976, yards weren't easy to come by)

We had ragwort galort in the field, no grass, but lots of juvenile delinquents letting our horses out when we were at work.

Let's maybe think how times have changed, + maybe welshmonsters isn't the best name for someone from Yorkshire with aggressive attitude? Nos da, mi cariad x

There's no reason to suppose that you horse will pick up any of these vices.

lol it is to do with horse breed lol i am going to look at another yard tonight that is half the price so will still be less including fuel

20 minutes is nothing in a car! i used to do 30 minutes each way and had 3 horses to do when i got there.

and your horse wouldn't pick up vices from another horse- they aren't contagious (slightly sore point as one of my horses weaves and some people are very prehistoric about it!)

yeah but the main worry was because my horse is bargy in the stable so don't want him to charge out when he is sharing it with a young persons pony if you know what i mean but i am off to go look at another today as the first yard doesn't know if she has got room for my third horse yet anyway and the yard i am going to see today has better grazing and hacking but is half the price
