I am on a high!!I so want my daughters horse!!

My daughter was away to Knockhill with her Dad today so said I'd lunge her horsey.Well must have taken a brave pill this am!!Thought I'd get on her.Now she isn't usually my type,I prefer something with a good bit of bone -shes a oldenburg and tbh a bit sharper than I'm used to.I am so in love !Felt so good even had a canter!It just felt right if you know what I mean!!

To my daughters credit mare is well schooled and easy off the leg and light in hand.

On a more practical note - what would be the best way to wangle, bribe, cajole a few more rides on her then?

Wellllllllllll........... I am trying to convince her it would be better for her to let me ride her a few times a week as she is 15 nearly 16 and just started 5th yr so needs time to study and ofcourse needs time with friends who are not horsey!!!!!!!!!!lol!

Money would work well for bribing her but seeing how horses or daughter land up with most of it anyway theres not much left for bargaining.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm will have to think up some plan!!

I'm in love with my daughter's horse, too! At 52, I never dreamed I'd be riding a 17hh 7 year old TB ex-point-to-pointer! He's big gentle giant, and I LOVE him! Problem is, I got on him tonight (for "got on", please read "clambered"!) and 18 year old daughter starts telling me how to ride him! Now, hang on there.......I've ridden regularly since 1963 and have never been without at least one nag of my own since 1970, so I think I have a vague idea of what to do! Now it's, "Mum, for God sake don't do that", "DO be careful with him", "What ARE you doing??" ! I could go on....and on.... But, no, I'm not ready to plod around the block on an old dobbin! Emily, darling, I think your boy is GORGEOUS! And I just feel SOOO good riding him out!

Well of course her education MUST come first and she positively NEEDS a good social life at the moment so really you are just doing her a favour!!!!

Now just had a thought her GHD went bang this morning and you know what young girls and their hair straightners are like.
