For about the past 3-4 weeks my Dalmatian Chance keeps weeing in the house.
Now its an odd one as I could for instance leave him home for hours and he will be fine. Then I can take him for a massive walk and after being home for 10mins he will wee all over the floor. When he does it it is like its a shock to him. He might be getting up on the couch to lie down then all of a sudden he will wet himseft and make a run for the door. Its not just a dribble, its a full on wee and its like he cant stop it. He is most likely to do it when active, he doesnt just get out of bed and wee on the floor, he will do it when hes jumping up or been for a walk etc.
He will still tell me when he wants to go out normally, infact I can let him out and then he will do it in the house 15 mins later. He will drink an awful lot of water when he does. He usually goes through a bowl full a day, when he does this he can go through 2 or even 3.
He does it most days, usually only once. Though last week he did it 3 times in about 2hrs.
I took him the vet last friday, she said it was strange as if it was an infection it is likely he would do it all the time. She said its not likely to be kidneys as he can still concentrate it. She said there was a trace of protein and blood but not enough for her to normally be concerned.
She has given him antibiotics, hes been taking them for 6 days now and hes still the same. She wants him back tomorrow to test him again (mum has to take him though as appointement at 4.40 and need to get horsey in before dark). She also said he may need to be taken in for his bladder xrayed and they will then blow it up and xray again.
What could be wrong with him? I am so worried that its something bad. He is now 9 which for a Dalmatian is oldish.
Anyone any ideas at all? Good or bad.
