Just passing through...
...and my horse
As some know, after bashing my head and then not being allowed to ride for nearly three months, I seemed to have mislaid my nerve, which is not good when riding the Dizzy dingbat
Yesterday my instructor rode Dizz and she went well and tried hard. Instructor thinks she just needs to work
.
So, I asked D1 to ride with me every morning (nerves being shot and all that), and at six-fifteen this morning I lay in bed crying, thinking D1 wasn't going to get up (she's not good at mornings). I knew I needed to get on Dizz, even if it was a case of getting on, walkng in a circle and getting off again
But D1 got up and went with me
. And I rode
. At a walk and in the school, but I rode the Dizzy one and felt in control and almost relaxed
. She was an absolute angel
. Couldn't go faster than a walk as the school was hard under its three inches of snow (vaseline in the hooves works well!), but she was responsive and listened and I worked on relaxing and doing what she needed me to do. Afterwards I couldn't stop grinning
Simple things and little steps
