I am riding my youngster!

Just wanted to share with those that know me and have followed the ups and downs of my threads on HHO, that I am now riding my 4 year old and actually been on 4 times!
Its still very nerve wracking and I am trying to be brave. He has a lovely smooth trot and is trying so hard to do all that is asked of him, so I am delighted with his progress. I ve just bought him a top of the range Tucker Western Saddle so you won't see me kitted out like this with him in his dressage saddle for a long time, as all his schooling and hacking will now be western. ( the safest option in my opinion for a person of my age and an athletic youngster).
Don't know what I am going to do with all my pairs of breeches, and will have to start buying jeans and chaps!!!
Hope to post pics of him in his western gear next time.

Its taken a lot of nerve and commitment to get to this stage, and then people tell me the journeys only just begun, and I guess I know thats true. I wont be buying a youngster ever again but by Gods good grace it seems I may have a diamond in the making.

Hubby is looking at a well schooled AQH mare today, as he has taken up Western and has realised his childhood dream to have a horse of his own is possible after all. I am keeping my fingers crossed for him as he has worked so hard for us, so I could have my boy and he deserves something for himself. The mare has been trained by top western rider Dave Stuart so hopefully we won't have all the angst that I ve put myself through with my youngster!

Oh, I am so pleased you are getting on so well. When you first posted you sounded so down and upset but now you sound so happy, which is always great to hear.

Looking at the latest piccys, he looks like very chilled and you two look really nice together.
