I am shocked and upset.

A friend of mine was at Henley Sales yesterday and says JC was there selling some horses. I know the judge says that his 'pets' are to be returned to him but surely they wouldn't have done so already?
One of the horses he was sellling was a Shetland mare with a foal at foot that couldn't have been more than 24 hours old as it was rather wobbly on its feet.
IF his 'pets' have been returned to him already and he's selling them it rather makes a lie of his claim theyare pets doesn't it?!

I wonder if it was one of his "pets"? I do fint it hard to believe that the family had that many shetlands as pets.

if so SURELY its worth gathering CCTV footage/witnesses etc for the rspca's appeal?

My friend asked why he was there seeing he'd had his animlas taken from him and his reply went along the lines of 'Trying to make some money before I lose these as well' (Which is not a direct quote as she couldn't remember his exact words but you get the gist.)
Whether anyone else spoke to him I have no idea as she left the sale area sharpish before she got herself removed from Henley altogether

She did say that the mare was tied too tightly as it couldn't reach the foal

when you say JC..i'm assuming you mean jamie grey not Jesus Christ?

if so...give the bloke a break..

he hasn't actually been found guilty of anything yet..

he still has to make a living...

and as for a wobbly legged foal..arent they all..especially if its been transported in a waggon to a sale..

JM07 - Give the bloke a break????!!! Are you insane?! Do you not know what this guy did? How much suffering he has caused a number of horses in HIS care?! Of course he's flipping guilty! Sod him making a living - I hope he loses everything.

If someone has allegations made against them, especially on such a big scale - they should have ALL their animals taken off them until they are either found guilty or innocent. Cant believe he is being allowed to carry on as normal.

Sorry JM07, Im really shocked at your statement of "give the bloke a break".... wow.

Maybe so JM07 BUT if you had a 'pet' taken from you then returned I'm sure you wouldn't be in such a hurry to sell it would you?

My understanding is that JG appealed for the animals to be returned to him as they were his PETS. I know I wouldn't be selling mine

hang on a minute..

he HASN'T been convicted..yet.

he is, in the eye of the law, allowed to carry on his legitamate business..whether "we" like that, believe it to be right or wrong....

yes, i saw the media coverage..photo's..of which at the time i said that worse was to be seen at markets up and down this country...

yes, they were poor, yes there were dead animals..which even THAT figure has yet to be confirmed and not just a media guess..BUT...

As i said he hasn't been convicted...YET!!!

THE WAY I LOOK AT THIS IS...

if he has had animals returned to him and the others are, in my opinion wrongly, to be sold on the open market, then there must have been a monumental cock up on behalf of those who seized them...OR, as many just aren't able to come to terms with, he isn't guilty..

Is this a reason to "give him a break"? Sure, he has not been convicted yet however it looks pretty bad for him does it not?!

not at all,........IF/WHEN he is convicted...i for one will be very interested

doesn't look the best.

i was at henley yesterday.. duno what JG looks like but didnt really look at the horses as it was PACKED i have never seen sooo many horses there it was madness! Where were the shetlands, at the front or round the back?

Having not been to Henley myself I don't know if the following will make any sense lol
Apparently they were by the chip van near the indoor market.
My friend did say she didn't stay long as it was so busy there yesterday. Got her head collar and lead rein and came home

Well i was with a group of people and we split up so half went round looking at the horses with the kids and me and the rest were in the indoor bit buying tack, when we met back up again my friends said that they had seen like a little family of shetlands including foal so may have been them, tbh i didn't look at any as i was trying not to get trampled by horses all over the place lol and there were quite a few shetlands
