Purely because I had a great lesson today! Every other week at our yard my instructor and old boss does a lesson for anybody who wants to join in, £5 per horse for an hour. I tend to do half and half with my sharer, so we both get the benefits of it.
Today I did the first half which started in the new boarded dressage arena, which was entertaining as Genie kept wanting to jump the boards. However she was really listening to me and we had just about our slowest canter ever.
We then went into the jumping paddock and Genie was a STAR. While we had a few issues with brakes as usual, she was otherwise really listening to me and although the jumps weren't very big, she was taking them on and we both were loving it!
There were a few expletives from me though, especially when she took off over a stride out, and a few grimaces when she gave small jumps over a foot of air.
My sharer then did a bit with Genie for the remainder of the lesson. She's not very confident jumping her and Genie was angelic, really looking after her and only jumping as big as she had to.
So smiles all round, and I just wanted to share how happy I am today!
