I took my horse for a hack today

.

Big deal, you might think. Especially as it was only a half hour amble down the road and back. But it was my first proper ride on him for over a year, after a horrendous 2008 when I thought I would never ride him again (he had two lots of major surgery including losing an eye, then injured a tendon

). So I am

- and the great thing was that he really enjoyed it, seemed really glad to be out, and was so chilled about being ridden

.

Thanks everyone, I am still grinning.
ChicoMio, he developed a swollen eye out of the blue last September, diagnosed as keratitis and spent couple of months in hospital, they couldn't control it so ended up having to have his eye out in December. He has gone through some terrible times but is still so sweet tempered. He is only 8 so I'm hoping the worst is behind us and we can still have some fun together. (He's the dark bay in my sig)
