Have had 2 jumping lessons with my horse. Fell off in the first one, but we really enjoyed & did well with the gridwork in the second one. Instructor now away for 6 weeks. I only have one pole, & 1 pair of wings - not ideal to practice with in the meantime!!
So I find some poly jumps for sale. 6 poles (2 of each red, green, & blue), 1 shark teeth poly plank (red & white), 2 pairs of 6ft poly wings with rubber feet, plus 6 pairs of red cups (just a few pins missing). The jumps were 200 miles from me, but having had an offer of £125 for the lot accepted, I thought well worth the journey.
I went to collect them today. Everything fitted in the car as it could be dismantled, except the plank. Fitted the plank in at an angle & gently tried to close the boot to see if it fitted. Said plank cracked my front windscreen in the bottom corner - not a small crack - a big spider type thing. Had to put plank through the sunroof (I know - should have done this in the first place!). Had to drive 200 miles home with plank stuck through the roof. Fuel consumption went up no end on the way home.....
So - what I thought was a bargain has now cost me £60 in windscreen excess, a £60 tank of diesel, plus the cost of the jumps!!! Why am I so stupid!
Is it just me, or do the best laid plans always go wrong!!
Trying to look on the positive side & remember that I can actually start to practice jumping at home now!
Sorry for the rant. Well done if you got to the end!
