I asked someone to pick up their dog poo tonight..

Do you keep the grass short in your field entrance OP? This may deter some dogs, mine like to be a bit "hidden" before they "go". I sport a very unfetching bum bag when i walk my dogs so that i always have a ready supply of poo bags. My husbands dog could poo for England!

Yup it is short as it's where we walk so gets trodden down and the FO mows the verges around our yard anyways.

new Girl at our yard used to bring her dog up poo outside gate then in the yard then one day I looked around as she never picked it up loads of poo and one right in front of my trailer I got the muck rake and skip and put all the poo in that and left it outside her stable she has never mentioned this ever and hey no more poo !! some people must just be mucky pups.

Well done you for saying something. I was picking up some poo from the verge outside our gate a while back, and a chap with a dog sa ntered past and said 'Oh I wouldn't bother picking that up there, I always just leave it' so I was quite happy to embarass him by saying 'Oh so it's you who lets your dog poo here and doesn't clear it up, my husband hates it when he strims our verges and finds it's full of dog poo' He didn't know where to look poor man, incidentally there's less poo there these days!

I just love NZ laws on dog poo - pick it up or get fined. We have dog poo bins dotted around - large blue dog shaped containers.

Rarely now do you find poo in places you don't want it. Dogs are banned from most of the parks and also from the National Parks. So you rarely meet them out on rides.

Blimey, that dog ban sounds a bit harsh. Have a friend in NZ who's desperate to get a dog. May she shouldn't....
