Hey everyone,

I am soo happy right now. I am now the proud owner of my 5year old dark brown tb mare.
I love her soo much and she was great when she loaded and great when she was traveling and when she got into the field she held her head very high then had a little dance when I let her go. She seems settled, so I will see how the night went when I see my field owner in the morning. I am so happy!! Ive been going to see her for the passed month getting to know her etc but im hoping to bond with her loads now as well. So happy.

Her racing name was "Maahe" So im not sure on her stable name? Im thinking "Macy" or "Masie" What do you all think?

Also I have got to send all her rugs back as its like shes wearing a mini skirt. Shes fine at the moment as she only has a light weight no fill summer rug as its ment to rain tonight and tomorrow. So im going to get her some bigger winter turn out rugs etc.

Pictures are here: Also I didn't notice it at first but now if you look at her white star its like in a shape of a horses head haha.

I will get some more pictures of her aswell when I take her rug off her. Also as you can tell we need grass!!!!

:D

Congrats! I like the name Macy ;) My friend bought an ex point to point and it's taken her about two months to fatten her up for winter!

Hopefully the rain will help with the grass growth! :D

Just looked her up - 2nd in one of her races, but would not make a pointer, I fear - more of a sprinter, so shall not be making you an offer - not that you would entertain it! Don't really know her breeding, never heard of her sire - but dam had a pretty name - Almond Flower - something from that? Nutty Hyacinth - only joking! Her racing name was a bit dull, but she is stunning - so think long and hard for a good one.....The first racing mare I ever bought (as a riding horse) was called Dressedforsuccess - can you imagine having 3 refusals on a horse of that name? Her stable name was Roxy - but was not keen on that so in the end after looking at all the baby names books, wild flowers, birds etc. I called her Keziah - which is a form of cinnemon - which sort of captured her dark chestnut coat - she became Kez - and I kept her for 13 years......hope you have as much fun with your mare - my mare was totally bonkers though - but I am sure yours is not? Visit the saddlery stores (2nd hand bit) or horsey car boots for new rugs......I suspect you will need 6'3 for average TB - might be OK with 6'
How exciting - good luck!

Lol im never going to sell her, even if she ended up going lame or cant be ridden etc ill never sell her on. She wasnt a pointer - just a sprinter. We have been teaching her to jump etc so shes coming along nicely. Im going to start long reining her along the bridle ways etc in a couple of weeks or so. She is only 15.1 so shes a smaller TB.. thinking of getting 6ft or tomorrow depending on the weather i might try some of the other horses rugs on to see what size fits her best or something.

xx

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee she has arrived!!! :D :D :D
It's so weird seeing her in Ron and Bill's old patch!

Really pleased for you sweetie, i'm glad we both have youngsters now so we can help and support each other when things get tough and of course do lots of schooling together!!

Hope all our hard work this winter pays off and we can reach our goal of a walk and trot test in January haha

See you in the week xxx

She is so pretty! Congratulations! I like the name Masie, it suits her. I wish you lots of happiness with her and have fun buying her new clothes.

Both the chestnut and grey in my sig are/were ex racers and both fab fab horses. Not all plain sailing mind (a few tears along the way) but very genuine, good honest horses :)

Congratulations, what a pretty mare and I love the name. Enjoy her and good luck in all you do with her, so exciting for you :-)

Well done! She is really pretty and I hope you have loads of fun years together. Name definately suits her.

I too had an ex-racer. Again, yes hard work but so worth it as she turned out to be a fab horse.
