What would be your best route for finding a new stable, possibly at a private yard, for my boy?I have rung a few in Horsemart but whilst they say Horsham they never really are, theyre usually outside of / middle of nowhere / opposite direction. I want it close to home, not fussed about having a school although I am used to having one but its not the be all and end all for me as there are lots around here to ride and hire cheap. I was thinking about putting some leaflets around with a few basic details and my telephone number? Does anyone know anyone? I obviously need one other horse in residence for company but other than that not fussy........he is a placid lad. Any other ideas gratefully received please?

OK so I have now typed and printed a dozen little "notes" to drop into house / stables / yard near me and I plan (if I get my poorly car back from the garage) to drive around this evening and sort this. Wish me luck!

Oh I thought you were about to loan your present YO's horse? Would you be able to take it with you if you move yards? Then you wouldn't need to look for somewhere with other horses.

I'd pop an advert in the local paper and go knocking on farmers doors; they often have a couple of acres that aren't being used and could make them a little income from horse owners.
